Description

As we all know, there are a large quantity of galaxies in the constellation Virgo. Most belong to the Virgo Cluster of galaxies. M58 is one of those galaxies. My observatory is somewhat blocked in the southern direction (trees) so I have limited time to image galaxies in Virgo. I also have limited time each night for imaging so I have to make the most of each session.  M58 is an interesting spiral galaxy. It is classified as an intermediate barred spiral galaxy. It is about 62 to 68 million light years away. Even though it is only 5'9 x 4'7 in size,  It is one of the brightest galaxies in the Virgo Cluster.
